Trick Shot Battle

Once you have perfected driving shots, puts and backhanders, why not try some trick shots? Trick shots can be whatever you want them to be. You can bounce the disc off the ground, into the basket, hit the disc against a wall before it hits the chains or even, get spun around in a wheelchair, stand up and take a shot. All of these count as trick shots! What a fun way to get creative and have fun on a warm Summer day. Check out Brody Smith and Avery Jenkins Trick Shot Battle here:

Be Creative with Trick Shots!

As you can see in the clip above, Brody and Avery explored diffferent areas and even comobines different sports for this epic trick shots battle. You can make your own rules, points system and use whatever props you wish to attempt the ultimate trick shot.

50 Putt Challenge

Getting bored of posting selfies and pet pics on your Instagram page? The 50 Putt Challenge is here! Brought to you by @brad_disc who started the competition on Instagram a couple months ago. Can you beat his score of 46/50 shots made in the basket from 15 feet away? We want YOU to submit your video for a chance to win your very own custom putter.

How to set up the 50 Putt Challenge

This is not as hard as it seems to set up and you certainly don’t need 50 putters like @brad_disc. You can use one, and keep getting it after every shot. First, set up a basket in the corner of the room, or yard. If you don’t have a basket, take a bucket and tilt it sideways on some sort of ledge. Be sure that whatever you choose to use for a basket, is the correct height (around 3ft tall). Now that we have everything set up, have a friend film you, or prop your phone up and film yourself putting 50 times from 15 ft away!

Submit a Video!

Submit your video by posting on your Instagram the putting video along with your score /50. Hashtag #50puttchallenge and tag @flydiscs in your post. We will select winners based on best putter and most creative video! Our winners will get to design and order their own putter on our site for FREE!

Good luck and have some fun!

2017 Course Championship at Morley Field Results

History

snapper-pierson-morley-fieldFor those of you who do not know, Morley Field Disc Golf course was established in 1978 by Snapper Pierson, who is a course pro and Disc Golf Hall of Fame member. Morley Field, located in the heart of America’s Finest City is one of the world’s original disc golf courses and one of (if not #1) the busiest courses in the world. Located just within a few miles from San Diego International Airport, San Diego Harbor, Coronado beaches and downtown, we are not surprised!

Course Overview

morleyfieldisc

This course is open to the public from dusk till dawn, and overall is a shorter course with with a few lengthy holes. The course also features a beautiful southern California landscape with Mach III baskets and concrete tee pads. This is a challenging course with lots of trees and pin placements. Pin positions change each Monday and there are 3-6 positions for each hole.

Teams

The team makeup will remain the same as the last year with 5 open, 4 masters, 2 grand and one woman. Changes from the previous years include changing the playing formula so all the teams play their traveling partner in the 5th round. This way, the play continues and there is no need to come in, reorganize and go back out.
